Mitch Ackles

Mitch Ackles is CEO of Hedge Fund PR, a Partner in HF Strategy and a Director and Spokesman of Hedge Fund Association, a leading international nonprofit organization focused on advancing transparency, development and trust in alternative investments.

With over 20 years experience, Mitch has a global track record for excellence.  He has executed winning campaigns for hedge funds, political and economic leaders, service providers, luminaries, conference organizers, charitable organizations and local, national and global hedge fund groups. Previously, Mitch was Marketing Director for vFinance, VP of Hedge Fund Capital Introduction for Global Partners Group and Worldwide Marketing Manager for Dow Jones TradeStation.  Mitch holds a B.A. in PR and Communications, is fluent in English and Spanish and actively manages reputations for the brightest minds and brands on Wall Street.

When raising visibility, his efforts have resulted in thousands of successes, including product and company awards, news articles, cover stories, speaking engagements, broadcast interviews, events, alliances, and product placements on TV and in books, blogs and movies.  His contact network is coveted, and includes virtually every editor, reporter, producer, blogger, lawmaker and influencer that has used the term hedge fund.  In times when a low profile is preferred, Mitch has insulated clients from press, influenced search engines, and provided guidance on communicating with media, investors, employees and counterparties.

Mitch is devoted to service, demonstrated by pro-bono support of non-profit organizations.  As Hedge Fund Association Spokesman and Director, Mitch is an advocate for the entire hedge fund community.  For HFA, he directs media relations and lobbying on Capitol Hill.  Mitch also serves as the primary media contact for Hedge Funds Care, a global charitable organization which raises funds for programs that work to prevent and treat child abuse.

Forrest Jones

Forrest Jones, VP of Hedge Fund PR, is an award-winning financial journalist. Having spent years working at BridgeNews and at Latin Trade magazine, Jones has published stories that have moved equity and bond markets across the Americas and have provided readers with insight into the hemisphere's business world.

For six years, Jones lived in Venezuela and Chile working as a financial journalist at BridgeNews. At Bridge, he provided real-time news coverage of Venezuelan politics, heavy industries and capital markets while in Chile, he covered fiscal and monetary policies, the mining sector, corporate and banking beats as well as stock and foreign-exchange markets. Jones also coordinated coverage of three presidential elections (Argentina, Chile and Venezuela). More recently, Jones was the News Editor at Latin Trade, where he devoted a great deal of time writing and editing feature-length articles involving global finance, capital markets, compliance and other business stories. He also helped design and roll out a supplement on wealth management and luxury lifestyles.

Most recently, Jones was the Market Intelligence Lead for Microsoft's Latin American region. At Microsoft, his duties included providing Microsoft executives with the latest economic and technology data and coordinating market intelligence activities with team members at Microsoft’s offices throughout Latin America.

Jones holds an M.B.A. from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a B.A. from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia. He speaks fluent Spanish and is a proven expert at effectively communicating the complex nuances of finance to key audiences around the world.

James Wells

As a VP of Hedge Fund PR, James Wells brings more than 10 years of writing, editing and communications experience to the table.  James spent most of his professional career with Information Clearinghouse, where he held several positions of increasing responsibility, including Senior Financial Writer, Chief Editor and, finally, VP of Communications.  Focusing mainly on financial information services and credit risk assessment, James wrote and edited an assortment of weekly newsletters and monthly research reports, all of which were read by top executives at most of the companies on the Fortune 500 list.  In addition, he coordinated a number of successful marketing campaigns and worked closely with premium clients to develop and launch several widely circulated publications.

James has also worked as an independent consultant, offering his skills to clients in a wide variety of industries and geographies.  His consulting work has included writing investment brochures, creating business plans, providing strategic management, lecturing and arranging start-up funding.

James received his B.B.A. from Hofstra University, where he majored in International Business and minored in French and Japanese.  He resides in New York City with his wife and son.

Manish Thakur

Manish Thakur is a Partner in HF Strategy and a Director of Hedge Fund PR. He has over 20 years experience in capital raising, developing investor marketing strategies, investor relations and in investing.

He has worked at such firms as Merrill Lynch & Co., Societe Generale and was CFO of a unit of Boeing, where he was responsible for managing a global marketing and capital raising strategy. Manish has lived and worked in London, Hong Kong, New York, Washington, Indonesia, Mexico, Thailand, the Middle East, India and Russia. During his career he has raised over $10 billion in equity, fixed income and bank financing. Additionally, he has run an investment firm that ran an Indian hedge fund and marketed an emerging market hotel private equity fund. In his last position, he assisted land owners of three prime sites in Mexico to put together luxury mixed-use hotel projects.

Manish holds a BSc (Honors) Economics from the University of London and an MBA in Finance from Columbia University Graduate School of Business in New York.  Manish also serves as Chairman of the HFA Sovereign Wealth Fund Committee. 

Robinder Sachdev

Robinder Sachdev is a Partner in HF Strategy and a Director of Hedge Fund PR. He has led business and financial planning of projects, structured debt instruments, and raised equity from private and institutional investors.

He has led a number of strategic marketing campaigns ranging from the election campaign strategy for the former Prime Minister of India to developing strategy to pass legislation through the United States Congress. With regards his work in communications, Robinder has appeared or written in the Wall Street Journal, CNN, BBC, National Public Radio, New York Times, Washington Post,  Nikkei, Asahi Shinbum, Yomiuri Shinbum. He has also developed training programs and promotional materials for the U.S. Navy and Department of State.

Robinder holds a MBA in International Business and an MA in International Relations, both from American University, Washington, DC, where he also served as an Adjunct Professor. He also holds a B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering from G B Pant University in India.
