 Sheryl Mejia will deliver a keynote speech on developing your marketing message. Ms. Mejia is a Partner at Decagon Advisors LLC, and has deep experience with the fund launch timeline as well as an understanding of investors’ operational and fundamental due diligence process. She has participated in the launch of both hedge funds and fund of funds. Throughout her career she has advised Family Offices, Funds of Hedge Funds and Endowments in the selection of both long-only and alternative asset managers. Ms. Mejia’s background includes roles with KCS Fund Strategies, Deutsche Bank, Bankers Trust Asset Management and KPMG. She holds an MBA from Wharton, a degree from Queen’s University and is a CFA Chartered Accountant.
 Marita K. Wein is a Partner at Alternative Investment Group and is responsible for risk management at all levels of the investment process. She joined the firm in February 2003. Prior to joining Alternative Investment Group, Marita was the Senior VP of Operations, Technology and Risk Management at Commonfund, a multi-billion investment management organization serving endowments, foundations, and other non-profit institutions. Before Commonfund in 1987, Marita was a Senior Financial Analyst with Van Eck Associates for two years, providing financial analysis and portfolio recommendations for a global equity fund for U.S. and international institutional investors.
 Robert Picard is a Senior Advisor of InfraHedge Ltd. and other industry related firms. He has 20 years of hands on experience building 3 multi-billion dollar hedge fund platforms at The Carlyle Group/Rock Creek, Optima Fund Management and RBC Capital Markets. Most recently, Mr. Picard has been a leader at Lyxor Asset Management, Navigant Consulting’s Financial Institutions Restructuring and Solutions Team (FIRST) and Boxtree Capital LLC (his own firm), as Managing Partner advising emerging hedge fund managers.
 David R. Friedland is President of The Hedge Fund Association and President of Magnum U.S. Investments, Inc. Magnum, founded in 1994, manages funds of hedge funds and sponsors and markets single manager hedge funds. David is one of the principals of the general partner of the two domestic funds offered by Magnum, namely Magnum Growth Fund LP and Masters Research Partners LP. David received a BBA in Finance cum laude from the University of Miami in 1993 and received his Juris Doctor magna cum laude from University of Miami in 1996. David joined Magnum in 1996.
 Stephanie von Oertzen is Senior Analyst at Accumulus Capital Management LLC. Ms. von Oertzen advises the investment committee at Accumulus with a focus on manager selection, due diligence and strategy review. Accumulus, founded in 2001, is a New York-based investment adviser that manages fund of hedge fund portfolios for family offices and institutions located globally. Accumulus manages both discretionary and bespoke fund of hedge fund portfolios. Prior to joining Accumulus, Ms. von Oertzen worked as an research analyst at Montan Capital GmbH & Co. KG. Ms. von Oertzen is a graduate from the University of Hamburg where she earned a Masters degree in Business Administration.
 Patrick J. McCurdy is a Partner and Head of Capital Development at Merlin Securities and has over ten years of experience in the hedge fund industry. At Merlin, Patrick consults hedge fund managers on their capital raising mandates and manages the firm’s investor relationships; fund of funds, family offices, endowments, pensions and foundations. Patrick began his career at Morgan Stanley where he worked in their Prime Brokerage Department. As a member of Morgan Stanley’s Capital Introductions team, Patrick managed relationships for more than 150 managers and investors and developed a proprietary network of global institutions. He was responsible for assisting hedge fund managers develop their marketing strategies and raise capital from institutional investors. Patrick holds a B.A. in economics from Williams College.
